Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle beach, South Carolina. Later she was a morning-news anchor and crime report at WCBD TV. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston on how Charleston police acted in DUI cases with leniency led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. The investigation resulted a stricter directive for state authorities. According to the Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell the Best Report of the year award for all South Carolina media. After her time living in Charleston, O'Dell worked as anchor for the NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV as well as an investigative journalist. She then joined Access Hollywood to work as a weekday and weekend correspondent. O'Dell in addition to being the anchor of Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She was a reporter for events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. As well as co-hosting the Pre Show Arrivals to The Emmys & The Golden Globes.
